Solomons Treasure

Don't faint I actually made something... lol

Mother inlaw has been bugging me for one of my bookmarks, it was a struggle to pull out the beads, but funnily enough once I got going on it.. well you know how it it. She's turning 75 next week so this will go with the rest of the present we got for her.

I used czech crystals, glass pearls and beads and some faceted semi precious stones I had lying around in the left overs drawer. The fish came on a strand of beads I bought last time I visited the "Feeling Inspired" show here in Brissy. I made the squiggly shape, a beaten piece of wire and managed to hit my finger in the process. ouch! In hindsight I think the beaten wire kind of looks like rolling waves.

Oh and I added a little Turtle (Solomon) who inspired the whole piece.

One of the nicest and most original bookmarks I've seen around. Nice job, Bernadine.

Do you realise that when I fainted just then I twisted my back, shame on you for putting up such a beauty. I've said it before and I'll say it again, this is too good to use as a bookmark, stick it in a buttonhole instead so everyone will get the pleasure of it. Hugs Joyce

Geez sorry there Joyce... are you ok luv? Can I get you a Bex?? hehe
Maybe I should ask the local library if I can display some of my bookmarks, I might make a killing for Xmas...hehe.

As for the buttonhole, its pretty big Joyce it'll definitely be a fashion statement. Anyway hope MIL likes it all the same.

I just love this bookmark. The swirlie wire really suits it and the little turtle is so sweet

Hi Bernadine, I love this. Is there anything that you can't do in the art line? This is gorgeous and your MIL is going to be soooo happy with it. Like the others said though, I would put it book show and tell style. It is too pretty to hide away anywhere. Love the little fishie and turtle too. You know me, anything with an ocean theme is going to be a favorite and this is no exception. It is beautiful, BJ

Thanks very kindly Heather. Solomon is indeed a little cutie. Forgot I had him.
Amazing what one finds stashed away in hidden boxes.

Oh Bev, I think I'm just an arts and crafts junkie and will give anything a try once just to see if its a worthwhile and enjoyable hobby.

Wow, what a beautiful book mark! (or reading jewellery as I like to call it). My bookmarks look very boring compared to that!

Oh, VERY nice! That would be so much fun to use. I think I'd end up admiring it more than reading.
