I was really concerned when he was bitten, as I'd never seen such a reaction in an animal before. I also located the nasty little culprits near where he was sitting so at least I was able to tell the vet what I thought had attacked him. She said it was a fairly common reaction to a sting.

One of those stinging black ants bit me between the toes a few weeks back at a bbq in the park and it hurt for hours after that.

Oh by the way, Remy says thanks for all the very kind wishes and he's thrilled that you like his lastest Santa pic. Merry Christmas to you all.Berniehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02776278885762695704noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6812449915257543646.post-86897983217330408302008-12-10T10:15:00.001+10:002008-12-10T10:15:00.001+10:00poor baby, how is he now?...............poor baby, how is he now?...............Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6812449915257543646.post-22367753155756438692008-12-10T10:15:00.000+10:002008-12-10T10:15:00.000+10:00Sounds like poor ole Remy hit a green ant nest, ve...Sounds like poor ole Remy hit a green ant nest, very nasty indeed, I've had a few emergency's with Manly Vet as well. Oh my, those cane ...Thanks Kel, Karyn and Maryanne. Oh my, those cane toads are deadly, glad to hear that your foxy is back to his usual self. The only good cane toad is a dead one.
My grandfather when he was alive had a cane farm up near Ingham in North Qld, the place was over run with toads at night. I hated them. I can recall seeing one jump out of a drain when we lived at Home Hill in the early 60's it was the size of a small cat.
